Turtle Rescue is based in Christchurch, New Zealand and provides rehabilitaion, holidays, adoption and education on turtle care. Turtle Rescue was formed by Donna Moot. At times there can be over 100 turtles in her care and Donna receives little financial help to pay for the upkeep or veterinary bills of the turtles.
Many turtles suffer due to inadequate enviroment or diet from inexperienced owners. These turtles can arrive vitamin deficient or with a variety of shell conditions and stress. Turtles show no signs of illness until extremely unwell. Often rescue turtles require months and even years of rehabilitation to recover from their ordeal.
